History of Steam Railroading: The 1225 and Pere Marquette (@ Comm. Center)

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Event Details

The Steam Railroading Institute (SRI) will be presenting a program about local railroading history and their historic No. 1225 Steam Locomotive in an evening for train lovers, history enthusiasts, and “kids” of all ages! Video clips will also be shown to bring the very rare 1225 alive for those who have not ridden behind her in recent years. The Christmas movie “The POLAR EXPRESS” was written by a well-known Michigan author, Chris Van Allsburg, and the No. 1225 Locomotive was actually used to create the images and sounds in the movie. So please join us for an exciting and enjoyable evening you will remember and recall with a smile!
